TikTok Downloader in Chrome
Chrome is the most widely used browser for TikTok downloads. It works great on Windows, Mac, and Android. Here's how Chrome handles downloads and a few tips to make the process faster.
How Chrome Handles Downloads
When you click a download link in Chrome, it saves the file to your Downloads folder automatically. On desktop — Windows or Mac — you'll see a download progress indicator in the toolbar. On Android, Chrome shows a notification at the bottom of the screen. By default, Chrome doesn't ask anything, it just saves to Downloads. But if you want it to ask where to save each file, you can turn that on in Chrome Settings → Downloads.
Desktop Chrome (Windows and Mac) — Step by Step
- Copy the TikTok link — either from the mobile app (Share → Copy Link) or from the address bar on tiktok.com.
- Open Chrome and go to downloaderi.com.
- Paste the link and click Download.
- On the result screen, click Download HD or Download MP3.
- Chrome downloads the file. Watch the download icon in the top-right toolbar.
- Click Show in folder in the download notification to jump straight to the file.
Chrome on Android — Step by Step
- Copy the TikTok link in the TikTok app.
- Open Chrome and go to downloaderi.com.
- Paste the link, tap Download.
- Tap Download HD on the result screen.
- Chrome shows a download notification at the bottom. Tap Open to play it immediately, or just open Gallery and find it there.
On a Samsung Galaxy S24 or any modern Android — this takes about 10 seconds including the paste.
Changing Chrome's Download Folder
On desktop: Chrome Settings → Downloads → Change download location. On Android: Chrome Settings → Downloads — you can point downloads to a different folder or to your SD card if you have one.
Chrome on iPhone — Important Note
Chrome on iPhone doesn't handle file downloads as cleanly as Safari. On iPhone, use Safari instead — it integrates directly with iOS's file system and gives you a proper progress indicator. See the Safari guide or the full iPhone guide for the right workflow.
Chrome Extension vs Web Tool
Browser extensions that download TikTok videos have access to your browsing data — that's a real privacy trade-off. Downloaderi is a web tool: nothing installs, nothing accesses your browser history. You paste a link, get a file, close the tab. For Firefox-specific tips, see the Firefox guide. For the full Android guide, see downloading TikTok on Android.
